What is a magical life? I’ve plastered my spaces on the web – my website, my Facebook Page, Instagram – with this idea, this notion of living a “magical” life. What I realized is that many people cannot even fathom what “magic” is.
As children, we did, but as adults it has since been grown up and out of us.
We all have notions, inklings about what it could be.
Some imagine “trickery” or slight of hand. Others, think it denotes illusion. That is, at least, what I believe the majority of people think it is. (ie card tricks)
There are others still that think of the stereotypical witch of Salem or Halloween. The sort that mean to do others harm.
Or even the witches and wizards from the Harry Potter universe. At least those characters showed that like anything else, magic could be used for good or evil.
But, the magic of which I speak is Universal Magic.
What IS Magic?
What we call true Universal magic is nothing more than the directing of energy for a desired outcome or intent. It is neither “good” or “evil”. What determines its nature is the intent that is behind it, and even then? That’s based upon one’s perspective.
But, it doesn’t take a “witch” to perform feats of magic.
Did you know, whether you are aware of it or not, that you create “magic” every day of your life?
Have you ever had instances where you thought of something, and it later on it occurred?
Our Thoughts Create Magic
Back when I was still a teenager, I’d experienced the messy break-up of a relationship. Admittedly, I was rather bitter, and I remember thinking (with more than just a bit of emotional energy behind it), “I wonder what he would do if I got into an accident.”
Do you know, not long after – perhaps a week or two later – I got into a car accident. Whether I’d known it at the time or not, through my thought and emotional energy, I had created that experience for myself.
It was as if the Universe had been involved in the conversation I had with myself, and when I said, “I wonder…”, it replied, “good question! Let’s find out!”
See, our thoughts are what express our intention. They, themselves, are energy as is our emotions. Together, they direct the energy that most of us are not even aware exists all around us.
Energy Is Here to Serve
Energy is here to serve us, and it will do exactly that without judgement of outcome.
Our intentions for creation do not have to be as obvious as the accident I experienced. It can be something as subtle as deciding that we are “sick of something”. To which Energy replies, “okay!” *poof* “You’re sick!”
I remember my mother telling me things of this nature were “self-fulfilling prophecies”. In the end, we create them for ourselves.
It’s for that reason, especially, that we must become so aware of the thoughts that we entertain. As one of my earlier mentors, Rev. Diannia Baty, says, “we must become the gate guards of our mind.” Otherwise, we create situations in a willy nilly sort of way, and usually not in a way that we consciously intend.
Believe It’s Possible
Currently, I’m reading The Success Principles by Jack Canfield. Principle 4 is “Believe It’s Possible”, and in this particular chapter, he says:
“Napoleon Hill, the author of Think and Grow Rich, once said, ‘whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.’ In fact, the mind is such a powerful instrument, it can deliver you to literally everything you want. But you first have to believe that what you want is possible. And belief is a choice. It is simply a thought you choose to think over and over until it becomes automatic.”
Think of the placebo effect! A person doesn’t even have to take a real drug or have a real surgery for the body to heal. All it takes is the belief that they’ve taken a particular drug or had a surgery to repair their body. Then, voila! Their body heals as though they did!
Jack Canfield goes on to say:
“When you replace your old negative expectations with more positive ones – when you begin to believe that what you want is possible – your brain will actually take over the job of accomplishing that possibility for you. Better than that, your brain will actually expect to achieve that outcome.”
What IS a “Magical Life”?
When I speak of a magical life, it’s a life where we are aware of our intentions, what we’re putting out there which – for better or worse – the Universe/Energy will bring back to us. In other words, consciously creating the life we desire.
Going back to what Jack Canfield said about our beliefs. Our beliefs are choices we make moment to moment. Our brains, our energy will make it so. Knowing that, what sort of world do you choose to live in? One in which nothing at all is magical or one in which everything is magical and possible?
I don’t know about you, but I choose the latter. Life is so much more fun and interesting from that perspective, wouldn’t you say?
Until next time, dear friend, may you see the magic that lies around every corner you turn.
